Dr. Denise de Frias exerted a great and positive influence in the field of cytopathology. She was a member of the International Academy of Cytology for 38 years, joining in 1987. She was viewed by the cytopathology community as an expert in her field. She will be missed by many who knew her, were inspired by her and appreciated her as an exceptional teacher and mentor.
