As a first project the IAC Foundation will provide travel bursary grants to cytotechnologists, cytopathology fellows or pathology residents/registrars to attend the IAC tri-annual International Cytopathology Congress. The Foundation will provide two Cytotechnologists and three Fellowship/Resident/Registrar applicants each with a 1,000 Euro travel grant to off-set expenses to attend the meeting.
The purpose of this grant is to provide funding, based on need and merit, to defray registration, travel and hotel costs. The current Travel Bursary Grant applies only to the International Congress of Cytopathology of the IAC to be held in Florence, Italy May 11.-15 , 2025.
Application Information
Cytotechnologist Qualifications
- CMIAC Member who is in their first five years of membership or an IAC member attending the International Congress of Cytopathology for the first time.
Fellowship/Resident/Registrar Qualifications
- IAC Member who will be a resident or registrar in pathology training or a fellow in a cytopathology training program at the time of the International Congress of Cytopathology
- IAC Member who has graduated as a pathologist/anatomical pathologist in the last 5 years in a Low/Middle Income Country and whose work includes cytopathology
Submission Timeframe
- PLEASE APPLY BEFORE 30. NOVEMBER 2024
- A complete application must be submitted 6 months prior to the International Congress of Cytology.
- For the May 2025 IAC Congress in Florence, Italy, the applications are due by November 30, 2024.
- Applications will the reviewd by the IAC Foundation Committee, with announcement of the receipients by mid-January 2025.
- Cash reimbursement will be distributed to the recipients at the meeting when proper documentation of expenses is provided by the successful candidates.
Your Application Must Include
• Curriculum vitae that includes educational training indicating the time, place and degrees awarded, relevant awards and honours.
• A statement from the applicant explaining why he/she should be considered for the Grant. Included in the letter should be the applicant’s statement of career goals (no more than one page) describing the applicant’s short and long term career goals and how the IAC Travel Bursary Grant will enhance these career plans and their practice of cytopathology.
