ADVANCED TRAINEE PROGRAM
The status of an IAC Advanced Training Centre (IAC-ATC) is a recognition that the center offers advanced training in Cytopathology and that can provide it to international fellows. This status reflects the dedication of the Faculty to Education. The title of IAC-ATC is awarded to the Institute as a whole.
The status of an IAC Advanced Training Centre (IAC-ATC) is a recognition that the center offers advanced training in Cytopathology and that can provide it to international fellows. This status reflects the dedication of the Faculty to Education. The title of IAC-ATC is awarded to the Institute as a whole.
There are two parallel ways of applying for IAC-ATC status:
a) The centers may nominate themselves (See the form below).
b) IAC can approach and propose internationally established centers.
A center should:
- Offer trainee positions – the number of places per year should be specified.
- Offer a one-month minimum stay.
- Specify the period of the year for training (or 365/365).
- Not charge for training.
- Provide trainees with a detailed certificate describing their work after completing their training.
- Agree upon the duration and aim of training beforehand
- Provide the applicant with a Letter of invitation in order for the application to be provided to IAC.
Applications should be submitted using the on-line form to the IAC Central Office. Applications that do not meet the IAC criteria and guidelines can not be accepted.
The application form can be found below. The center should contain the following key information:
- Name of the center, address
- Head of Department Supervisor
- Details about specific areas in which training can be offered (particular method, field of subspecialty – e.g. interventional cytopathology, soft tissue cytopathology
- Number of positions offered for each year, expected duration of the training
- Specific periods of the year when the visit may be realized (should be defined in direct contact between the center of excellence and the applicant)
- Provide contact address for the applicant to request details
