Develop and administer an effective program of monthly webinars

Responsibilities:

  • Careful selection of current and cutting-edge topics.
  • Invite accomplished as well as emerging speakers with excellent expertise on the topic of presentation
  • Invite and promote program evaluations (speakers and topics) for further improving and enhancing the series.
  • Explore innovative ways to enhance delivery of information (more interactive and practical, using WSIs and other tools)
  • Coordinate with the Education and Scientific Program committee for exploring new topics and speakers.
  • Liaise with the Communication, Social Media and Website for better visibility and promotion.

Dr. Esther Diana Rossi, MD, PhD, MIAC (Italy)

Dr. Esther Diana Rossi is associate Professor of Anatomic Pathology and Histology at the Catholic University “Agostino Gemelli” School Medicine Rome, Italy. She holds the title of full Professor of Pathology and heads the Endocrine and Cytology the Units.  

Esther Diana Rossi is the President-Elect of the Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology   Associate Editor Cancer Cytopathology, and Chief Editor for Europe-World tumor registry, and the co-chair of the EFCS Scientific Committee   


Dr. Ivana Kholová, MD, PhD, MIAC (Finland)

Dr. Ivana Kholová is a Professor of Pathology at University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio and chief physician at Kuopio University Hospital. She serves as a Head of Cytopathology at Fimlab Laboratories located at Tampere University Hospital, where she is involved in HPV screening program. 

Since 2015 she is a President of Finnish Society for Clinical Cytology. She works as a Scientific Committee Chair at European Federation of Cytological Societies Board, where she leads several projects.

Dr. Zubair Balloch, MIAC

Dr. Zubair W. Baloch, MD, PhD, MIAC (USA)

Dr. Baloch earned his medical degree from Liaquat Medical University in Pakistan and completed his PhD in 1991. He then pursued pathology residency at Hahnemann University Hospital and fellowships in surgical pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and cytopathology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. In 1997, he joined the University of Pennsylvania as an assistant professor and currently serves as a professor of pathology and laboratory medicine.
Dr. Baloch has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications, primarily focusing on endocrine and head and neck pathology. He has written numerous book chapters, delivered lectures at national and international conferences, and co-authored three books. He served as co-editor for the “Milan System for Reporting Salivary Gland Cytopathology” and contributed to the development of the “Bethesda Thyroid FNA Classification Scheme” as part of the NCI-sponsored 2007 thyroid initiative. Additionally, he was involved in renaming the encapsulated follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma to non-invasive follicular tumor with papillary-like nuclear features (NIFTP).
As an editor, Dr. Baloch is the chief editor of Diagnostic Cytopathology and serves on the editorial boards of several other leading journals, including Cancer Cytopathology and Cytojournal. He chaired the ASCP scientific program committee from 2014 to 2018 and has served on numerous other committees, including those for the American Thyroid Association and American Association of Endocrinologists.
Dr. Baloch was inducted into the University of Pennsylvania Academy of Master Clinicians and has received numerous honors, including the Peter Nowell Award and the Kevin Salhany Award from UPenn, the ASCP President’s Award, the ASC President’s Service Award and IAC James Reagan award.


Dr. Illei Peter, MIAC, Baltimore

Dr. Peter Illei MIAC (USA)

Dr. Illei serves as Associate Professor of Pathology and Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as well as the Director of the Cytopathology Fellowship Program and Director of the Division of Thoracic Pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He received his Pathology residency training at New York University Medical Center in New York with fellowships in Oncologic Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Dr. Illei has participated in over 30 international workshops, seminars and online lectures. He has also participated in collaboration with international societies and universities in several cytopathology thoracic pathology tutorials. 

Dr. Illei has published extensively with over 165 peer-reviewed articles in major scientific journals, 2 book chapters and electronic media. Known for his expertise in “Thoracic” pathology and cytopathology, Dr. Illei has served on several committees of the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC) and on multidisciplinary task forces resulting in practice guideline publications on rapid onsite evaluation (ROSE), collections and handling of thoracic biopsies and cytology samples (endorsed by 8 societies), acquisition and handling of endobronchial ultrasound transbronchial needle samples: an American College of Chest Physicians Clinical Practice Guideline, and a Delphi consensus definition of diagnostic yield and recommendations for patient-centered study designs.


Dr. Radhika Srinivasan, MD, PhD, MIAC (India)

Dr. Radhika Srinivasan, MD, PhD is currently Professor & Head of the Dept. of Cytology & Gynecological Pathology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. 

Her chief interests are cytopaythology, molecular pathology  and gynaecological pathology. She served as an Expert Committee member of 1st National Guidelines for Cervical Cancer Screening programme (2006) in India and is also a member of the International Consortium for Cancer Reporting for preparation of datasets for Ovary / Fallopian tube / Peritoneum.

Dr. Syed, Z. Ali

dr. Syed Z. Ali, MD, FRCPath, FIAC (USA)

Prof. Ali serves as Professor of Pathology and Radiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as well as the Director of the Division of Cytopathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He received his Pathology residency training at North Shore University Hospital/Cornell University in New York with fellowships in Oncologic Surgical Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and Cytopathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Known globally as an innovative educator, Prof. Ali has well over 375 invited lectures, keynote speeches and visiting professorships all over the world. In collaboration with international societies and universities, he directs or co-directs several annual major cytopathology tutorials.

Prof. Ali has published extensively with over 335 peer-reviewed articles in major scientific journals, over 35 books, book chapters and electronic media. Known for his expertise in “Thyroid” and “Pancreatic” cytopathology, his monograph on “The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology” (now in its 3rd edition) has been translated in 8 languages and is extensively used in medical practice all over the world. He is the founding editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Society of Cytopathology (JASC) and a past-President of the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC). Presently, he serves as the President of the International Academy of Cytology (IAC) and Chair of the International Board of Cytopathology of the IAC. He is a fellow of both the Royal College of Pathologists (UK) and the IAC. He is recipient of the ASC’s “Warren R. Lang Award” in 1996, “President’s Award” in 2012, “Excellence in Education Award” in 2015, the IAC’s “Maurice Goldblatt Award” in 2019, Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology’s “LC Tao Educator of the Year Award” in 2022 and the ASC’s “Papanicolaou Award” in 2023.


Massimo Bongiovanni, MD, FIAC (Switzerland)

Dr. Bongiovanni is head of Cytopathology at SYNLAB Pathology in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is member of the Pathology Expert Group, at SYNLAB International, Member (MIAC) and then Fellow (FIAC) of the International Academy of Cytology since 2016. He is the author of more than 200 scientific articles and 15 book chapters. He was Vice President of the Swiss Cytology Society (2015-2021) and a member of the Endocrine Tumor Group of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). He is associate editor of the journal Acta Cytologica and participates in the editorial board of the journal Diagnostic Cytopathology. He is currently co-chair of the scientific committee of the European Federation of Cytology Societies (EFCS).
