Medical Membership (MIAC)

The International Academy of Cytology now has more than 1400 medical members in 85 countries. The membership is dedicated to the advancement of cytologic techniques in diagnosis and research.

There is an admission fee of US$ 150. The annual dues are currently US$ 195 and include a subscription to the two journals ACTA CYTOLOGICA and ANALYTICAL AND QUANTITATIVE CYTOLOGY AND HISTOLOGY.

Mandatory requirements
are a medical degree and a completed education in a medical specialty (e.g. pathology, gynecology, internal medicine ect) in the country of residence in addition to special expertise in cytology.

Please include with your application form:

  1. Two letters of recommendation from colleagues or superiors in the medical profession who can attest to your character and professional standards. These individuals do NOT have to be members of the IAC.
  2. Copies of speciality diplomas
  3. One passport sized photograph
  4. Sponsorship signatures of two Fellows or Members of the Academy (page 4). For members in your country please see "Active Members". If you have problems finding Sponsors, please contact the central office for assistance.
  5. Your signature on page 4
