A big thank you to all who participated and made this a successful meeting.

The new IAC Tutorials held recently in Hong Kong was a great success. Participation was well above the initial anticipated number, reaching 225 students. The faculty combined for over 34 lectures and live videomicroscopy sessions, as well as 3 sessions for unknown case presentations.

Dr. Walid Khalbuss presented a digital pathology session in which he was able to demonstrate the capabilities of telepathology with live communication between the Tutorials lecture hall and his home site at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. As a close to the overall program, Drs. Khalbuss and Ritu Nayar presented a rapid-fire seminar discussing all 40 unknown cases that participants were able to view and interpret via the Internet prior to the Tutorial.

The University of Hong Kong conference facility was spectacular and the venue of Hong Kong was a delight to all participants - students and faculty alike.

The IAC would like to specifically recognize the efforts of the local co-directors, Professor Ui-Soon Khoo and Dr. Yue Cheng. Their attention to the logistics of the program was exemplary.

The IAC would also like to thank our co-sponsors for this event - the Hong Kong Society of Cytology and the University of Hong Kong.

Program

This 4 day course provided a comprehensive review and update of the current state of the art in gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology. The conference format was both lecture and glass slide based-video microscopy sessions.

The well visited optional evening sessions allowed the registrants to discuss interesting cases presented by the faculty.
