Dear Colleague:
You are invited to participate in the INTERNATIONAL CONSENSUS CONFERENCE
ON THE FIGHT AGAINST CERVICAL CANCER, organized by the International Academy
of Cytology, and cooperating national, regional and international organizations.
Please join us in Chicago, March 18-22, 2000.

Recognizing the huge cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, medico-legal
and geographic differences related to this disease, the International Consensus
Conference will address appropriate screening and management strategies
for highly industrialized, as well as for suburban and rural areas. Expert
clinicians, pathologists, epidemiologists, legal experts and economists
will consider options and their acceptability to patients who will also
be represented by cervical cancer survivors from various countries.

During the International Consensus Conference, input will
be obtained from governmental and professional medical organizations, patient
advocacy groups, reimbursement agencies and patient educators to explore
the feasibility of proposed programs. A considerable portion of the conference
will be devoted to novel educational methods to effectively arm cytopathologists,
cytotechnologists, colposcopists and gynecologic oncologists with the latest
knowledge for diagnosing and managing patients with premalignant lesions.
